And So There is Collusion- Paul Manafort

Updated to include prior post of Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya.

Due to a mistake by Paul Manafort’s attorneys by failing to redact a court pleading in response to Special Counsel Robert Mueller, we have now learned that Manafort was sharing polling data with Russian-intelligence-linked associate, Konstantin Kilimnik. This puts Trump’s campaign inches from Russia as Manafort was Trump’s campaign manager.

House Intelligence Committee Chair Rep. Adam Schiff responded by saying to CNN that the revelation raises “profound questions about why all the secrecy, why all the lies. And most seriously, why is a campaign manager of a US presidential candidate providing campaign polling data to someone linked to a foreign adversary’s intelligence agency?”

The fact that Trump’s campaign manager was providing polling data to the Russians shows coordination with Russia to get President Trump elected through their social media disinformation campaign.

The report submitted to the U.S. Senate on Russia’s election meddling can be seen below.

President Trump was asked about the revelations of Manafort’s case.

“Mr. President, did you know that Paul Manafort was sharing polling data from your campaign with the Russians?” a reporter asked Trump at the White House on Thursday.

“No, I didn’t know anything about it. Nothing about it,” President Trump replied.

In addition, I have asked and written before what is Manafort hiding? I’ve always said Manafort is a traitor, this confirms it and answers my question on why Manafort has gone out of his way to stay in prison in solitary confinement rather than be free.

As I suspected, the only place in the world that Manafort is safe is in prison.

In addition, let’s not forget that Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya was indicted earlier this week. While the indictment is unrelated, Veselnitskaya was present at the Trump Tower meeting and so was Manafort.

The un-redacted court pleading can be found below. Starting on page 5 are where the redactions were not properly made.

The thing they have to prove is whether Trump knew about it or not. Sounds easy but it might not be.

My question is: If the data was used for a social media disinformation campaign, just how effective was it?
I mean, wouldn’t you use this type of campaign to try to gain the popular vote? He didn’t win the popular vote so it must not have been that successful. And as we have seen, the popular vote alone doesn’t win you the election.
I don’t mean to imply that the level of guilt is somehow relevant to how effectively the data was used but it just doesn’t seem useful to me.
In fact, if the electoral college carries more weight than the popular vote, then why wouldn’t you focus more resources on the EC?

We will never know how it affected the campaign, and yes, you are right- Trump wills stand there and say “yes I knew all along.” That is why Mueller needs to focus and seems to be focusing on obstruction of justice b/c much easier to prove.

I forgot the numbers, but the 3 states Trump took, was by a total of 70,000 votes that could have swung the election. But, I do have to believe people were swayed and Comey, as much as Trump hates him, I believe he helped him by saying Hillary Clinton was being investigated again, while Trump was from day one, and he never mentioned that.

I agree, Comey didn’t help her but she didn’t help herself either. I think Bernie was a better candidate but his allegiance didn’t lay with the DNC. He is an independent and ran on the DNC ticket but in the end they pulled the rug out from under him and the millennials knew it. She lost a lot of votes because of that. She just couldn’t connect with them.
Trump won the rust belt because he knew he had to swing them to win the EC.
I don’t care for Trump so in a way I hope they do get something on him to remove him from office then let Pence finish it out. But sadly, just like most politicians, I am sure he has a fall guy for this also.

You are right. Rich people and esp. billionaires don’t go to prison in this country. Will there be fall guys? Absolutely. Although, I do predict a resignation. This country doesn’t need a scandal like that. The same way Nixon got pressured to resign by his own party, this will happen to. Republicans don’t want to own this.
