Another Roman Catholic Diocese Files for Bankruptcy

Another bankruptcy has been filed by the Roman Catholic Diocese in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, because of sexual abuse lawsuits. At least twenty other diocese have filed bankruptcy because of the lawsuits.

The Roman Catholic Diocese has settled claims with 106 people so far, totaling $12 million, but there is a total of 111 settlements pending.

The bankruptcy petition listed 200 plus creditors and estimated liabilities between $50 million and $100 million. Assets were approximately $10 million in value.
