CNN and Jim Acosta Beat Trump in Court Again
President Trump already lost in court regarding asylum claims, now he lost for the second time this week to his most hated television network, CNN. Trump also lost a few months ago the lawsuit preventing the merger of CNN, AT & T, and Time-Warner under anti-trust violations.
President Trump’s White House had sent CNN a letter stating when the temporary reinstatement of Acosta’s hard pass would expire in two weeks, it would be revoked again.
Why the White House would even waste their time to send such a letter is beyond all logic and reasoning.
Under normal circumstances, a Judge would extend the temporary court order without a hearing if the order was to expire before a full hearing could be heard.
In addition, let the other side worry about filing a new motion and requesting a hearing for the extension. But, I’m willing to bet that Trump didn’t give attorneys for the White House the option and they were forced to send the letter because trust me, those very qualified lawyers knew what the next step would be.
Once CNN received the letter, guess what they did? They filed for another emergency hearing to have the matter heard. How did President Trump’s White House react?
They simply retracted the letter once the White House confirmed that Acosta would have his hard pass reinstated, and in return, CNN dropped its lawsuit.
Of course, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders completely misconstrued the initial court ruling of the First Amendment is not guaranteed in the White House, the most absurd statement and lie she’s ever made, and trust me, she’s made plenty, considering what can be more of a public or government building than the White House?
Regardless, new rules will be implemented, “decorum” as the White House likes to say, but I wonder if “decorum” applies to the President who just last week called April Ryan a “loser” or when President Trump told ABC’s Cecilia Vega “you never think.” Kettle, meet black.
The White House has mentioned eliminating follow up questions, but the White House Correspondents Association has objected.
Olivier Knox, the President of the Correspondent Association said: “for as long as there have been White House press conferences, White House reporters have asked follow-up questions. “We fully expect this tradition will continue.”
Here’s an idea Mr. President if you can control yourself emotionally which I doubt: just point a lot less to Jim Acosta and you won’t have to hear his questions.
Here’s an unanswered question: with dozens of reporters in the press room, why does the President always call on Acosta?

CNN’s Jim Acosta is Back
U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly who was appointed by Trump last year to the federal trial bench, has granted CNN’s request to temporarily reinstate Jim Acosta’s White House press pass which had been suspended indefinitely by President Trump.
“I want to thank all of my colleagues in the press who supported us this week, and I want to thank the judge for the decision he made today. Let’s go back to work!” Jim Acosta.
Of course, Sarah Huckabee Sanders in her consistency of lying, half-truths, and exaggerations, said another falsehood.
“Today, the court made clear that there is no absolute First Amendment right to access the White House. In response to the court, we will temporarily reinstate the reporter’s hard pass. We will also further develop rules and processes to ensure fair and orderly press conferences in the future. “There must be decorum at the White House.”
The Judge’s ruling makes no mention of what Sanders is talking about since the Judge ruled narrowly on Acosta’s Fifth Amendment right to due process. There’s also the hypocrisy of Sanders mentioning “decorum” in the White House.
Then again, what can we expect from Sanders who releases a video from Alex Jones’ Infowars which sped up the video to make it look like Acosta was being aggressive.
Even White House counselor Kellyanne Conway agreed that the video had been sped up.
Even Judge Kelly mentioned that there was no touching by Acosta of the woman that reached across his torso to grab the microphone from his hand. Another day full of lies in the Trump White House.

President Trump believes in a free press and expects and welcomes tough questions of him and his Administration. We will, however, never tolerate a reporter placing his hands on a young woman just trying to do her job as a White House intern…— Sarah Sanders (@PressSec) November 8, 2018
