Coffee and Headlines- Trump Tariffs, RBG, SNL & Michael Cohen
Ahh coffee and Monday mornings. Where would we be without it. It’s been a few days so last catch on what is important.
The Trump Tariffs- No Bueno
The Tax Foundation, a conservative organization, has given a grim warning for President Trump’s self created tax war. Not only is it looking bad for the middle class, additional reporting by CEO’s predict a recession for 2018.
Saturday Night Live Hurt Trump’s Feelings
SNL killed it with their opening skit of bringing out some heavy hitters where it was Christmas without Trump in “It’s a Wonderful Life.” The problem? Trump got his feelings hurt.
“A REAL scandal is the one sided coverage, hour by hour, of networks like NBC & Democrat spin machines like Saturday Night Live. It is all nothing less than unfair news coverage and Dem commercials. Should be tested in courts, can’t be legal? Only defame & belittle! Collusion?”
Can you believe we actually have a President crying and complaining about comedy skits on SNL?
What’s Going on in Trump World
Just another day and another investigation for President Trump. What is being investigated so far?
- Trump Transition Team
- Trump Campaign
- Trump Organization
- Trump Foundation
- Trump Administration
- Trump Inaugural Committee.
But don’t worry President Trump is in good hands with Rudy Giuliani (insert sarcastic laugh here).
How Cool is RBG?
Planking. Broken ribs. Pioneer for women. Nothing can stop Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, but she’s also pretty cool.
An attorney in California inspired by the CNN documentary “RBG,” sent the Supreme Court Justice a necklace that she wore for the group portrait. In addition, Justice Ginsberg sent a handwritten letter of thanks.
“For today’s surprise package, a thousand thanks,” Ginsburg wrote in the letter. “I will enjoy wearing it on the bench and off as well.”
More Russian Puppets in Politics
George Papadopoulos who went from “coffee boy” to convicted felon, to now joining the far, far, far right as conservatives believe he is fighting the “deep state.” As a result, Papadopoulos tweeted he will be running for Congress.
Papadopoulos is confused between fame and infamy. Regardless, how many of Putin’s people are working in Washington already?
Jerome Corsi and $25k
Is it just me, or do conspiracy theorists always seem to be involved in conspiracies that benefit them? Corsi, who if memory serves me correct, had a New York Times best seller in his book about President Obama and his birth certificate, now seems he got busted by of all websites, the Daily Caller for taking in $25,000 in donations for a non-existent doctor to cure someone of bladder cancer.
Michael Cohen’s Interview
After appearing in court and being sentenced to three years in prison, Michael Cohen interviewed with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos.
President Trump and a Robert Mueller Subpoena
All legal eyes are on a secret hearing with a secret defendant and a secret team of defense lawyers on a subpoena issued by Special Counsel Robert Mueller. There’s good cause to believe the subpoena is for President Trump.
Have a great rest of the week and keep checking back in.
