Coffee and Morning Headlines- Khashoggi, Caravan, Don McGahn

President Trump and Jamal Khashoggi

President Trump for the first time said publicly that he believes Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi is probably dead.

Trump has threatened the Saudis with “severe” consequences if they were involved, but with close ties personally and in government, how severe is unknown.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has withdrawn from a visit to Saudia Arabia for an investment conference.

Caravan Watch

With President Trump always tough on immigration and playing towards his base, he has tough words for the Caravan of Honduran migrants heading for the Mexico border. Too bad the President isn’t so tough with his words with the Saudis and the brutal murder of Khashoggi.

As Trump has done before, he is threatening to place the military at the border. I never knew we were at war with Mexico and Honduras.

Parkland Shooting

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was in South Florida and met with students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas and told them that if Democrats take back control of the house, gun control is on the top of the list.

Don McGahn

Former, yes, former, White House Counsel Don McGahn is officially out of the White House. He’s being replaced by Washington lawyer Pat Cipollone, who has already been advising Trump on the Robert Mueller investigation. See the connection and how he got the job?

President Trump Lied. No Seriously

Earlier this week in speaking with the Associated Press, Trump actually said he has a “natural instinct for science.” He also kept touting the work of his uncle, John Trump but apparently, John has nothing to do with climate science but with voltage energy, x-rays, and radar technology. There’s no denying John’s success, but he had nothing to do with climate studies.
