Deadly and Fiery Car Accident in Green Cove Springs

GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. –

Per News4Jax.com, there was a deadly car accident in Clay County on State Road 16 at Blanding Boulevard just after 5 a.m. over the Labor Day weekend.

According to FHP, the driver of a Dodge Stratus attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Blanding Boulevard when a pickup truck slammed into it, resulting in the Dodge catching on fire.

The driver and passenger in the Dodge were both killed in the crash. The driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries.

Unfortunately, left-turns are usually the most dangerous and the most common cause of car and motorcycle accidents. When approaching an intersection, always be vigilant because the driver making a left may have his view obstructed and not see you coming.
