Action News Jax is reporting a fatal accident on Arlington Expressway.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at approximately 9:50 p.m. on New Year’s day, killing a Jacksonville resident.
Per FHP, Asea Hollingshed, 28, was driving a Volkswagen Passat westbound on Arlington Expressway while Zarell Crittenden, 27, was driving his Ford Fusion eastbound. Crittenden died in the head-on car accident.
Another car was hit in the accident, but that driver wasn’t injured. Hollingshed is in the hospital with critical injuries.
Crittenden had just left Christians United for his Bible study class and was on his way home. He was a husband and the father of three young children, the church music engineer and a graduate of Terry Parker High School.
His wife sent the following statement to Action News Jax:
“Zarrell was passionate and courageous. He Loved the Lord above all things and was extremely devoted to me and our 3 boys. He loved to coach at Terry Parker High School and was adamant about his family. He was an all around awesome man, great husband and wonderful father who will be severely missed.”
