House Democrats passed a bill Friday that seeks to reduce money in politics, expand voting rights, and obtain tax returns on future presidents and vice presidents.
Known as H.R. 1, the bill passed the chamber by a 234-193 party-line vote.
Of course, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell opposes the bill, I cannot imagine why, and President Trump has threatened to veto the legislation. I also can’t understand why.
In addition, dark money groups would have to disclose their donors, a national automatic voter registration would be created, and Election Day would be a federal holiday.
