Ebony Archives Sell for $30 Million in Bankruptcy

Ebony and Jet Magazines that filed for bankruptcy earlier in the year, has sold its photo archives $30 million.

More than 3.5 million pictures and 10 thousand videos taken over 70 years will go to the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, the Getty Research Institute and other cultural institutions.

The fund obtained will be used to pay off creditors listed in their Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
