Facts on the Border Wall Scare Trump Supporters

Border wall. Steel slats. Whatever President Trump calls it these days as he gets schooled by Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer in the art of the deal. Regardless of the play on words, besides the outdated concept of a wall versus fencing and the environmental damage a wall causes, is the wall the solution?

If it were, then proof is needed to show it’s effective. The problem is truth is a footnote with Trump’s administration.

Let’s consider this wall is already costing hundreds of millions of dollars as federal employees aren’t  collecting a paycheck during the holidays because of the wall. But, the cult followers still want it, regardless of the costs or the truth.

From day one I’ve been saying that the majority of illegal immigration takes place at our nation’s airports. But, since we can’t shut down tourism because that pays the bills, President Trump has to point his anti-immigration finger elsewhere. Along the way, Trump has already put up a wall in this country with his divisiveness.

Estimates for the wall range from $25 billion to $70 billion. Imagine instead handing $25 billion to Veteran’s for proper healthcare, another $25 billion to education, and the last $20 billion to infrastructure. A man can dream, can’t he?

By building the wall, we are overlooking, on purpose I’m sure, that the majority of illegal immigration is simply done by overstaying an expired visa. That’s it.

No migrant caravans.

No dangerous treks across inhospitable land.

No major media outlets following single mothers walking thousands of miles to freedom to avoid murder, rape, and mutilation.

Just simply flying over in the comfort of a plane, vacation a little, and not going back. But, it’s hard to make tourists sound scary and “build that wall” makes for a better soundbite than “shut down the airports.” And who wants to see YouTube videos of people walking to freedom via the airport? Those people look like us coming back from our own vacations versus crossing the border.

Since 2007, the Center for Migration Studies which is a non-partisan think tank, researched that the amount of those overstaying their visas outnumbered border crossings by 500,000 and 66% of illegal immigration for 2014!

If you don’t want to believe the study, then just look to the Department of Homeland Security where the figures for 2017 were 600,000!

Add to the fact that illegal immigration has been reducing for years on its own. But, you want the wall, right?

Facts are facts. The truth is still the truth regardless of what Rudy “Gibberish” Giuliani says and it’s not alternative facts either as Kellyanne Conway once said.

Trump’s administration is built on a foundation of lies, and as we are witnessing, an attack of sustained truth will always bulldoze through a wall built up on lies and prejudices.

But hey, the “build the wall” rhetoric seemed a long time ago had nothing to do with illegal immigration, just prejudices. A convenient way of identifying the racist, the ignorant, if not both. Why facts scare the hell out of Trump supporters and this administration is something I will never understand.

I say this, build the wall, and when Americans have to mow their own lawns, wash their own cars, clean their own houses, and pay $23.99 for one tomato, then we will see how effective that plan was, in the meantime those people get stuck with the bill with a withdraw from their paychecks because last time I checked, Mexico was supposed to pay for the wall, another fact that scares Trump’s cult followers.

Now, it’s Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer’s fault but, it was just a few weeks ago that Trump said he would own the shutdown and would love a shutdown.

Facts = scary.

Then again, I admit, living in a world of make-believe is far better than in a world of reality, but that is a luxury I cannot afford, nor half the country.

And by the way, it’s also a fact that immigrants take jobs Americans can’t or won’t do, and that has also been proven endlessly with similar studies.

Trump supporters can’t see the forest beyond the trees of lies.

By the way, I noticed a fence protects the President from the “bad hombres” and not a wall?

So you feel that Hispanics are only good for low wage paying labor jobs?
You do realize that there was border wall being built under the Obama administration as well right?
I’m not a Trump supporter by any means but I am willing to see both sides here and I actually disagree with a border wall of any kind. Is there a wall separating the US and Canada? No? I wonder why that is?
Maybe, instead of screwing up the central and south America’s (like we have done for decades (research United Fruit & it’s connections to the US)) maybe we should actually help them be productive members of the world.

People need to take off their rose colored glasses and see it for the shit it is. We have a tyrannical that is no longer for the people by the people (if it ever really was). It’s for big business and by big business and that’s regardless of party. This country is the most polarized I have ever seen it and it’s not any one politician doing, it’s all of them.
The easiest way to control a populace is to either keep them uneducated or keep them divided among themselves.

The more I learn of the US’s past involvements of the central and south America’s the more ashamed I am of our country and I can’t believe my tax dollars have helped fund some of it.
Compare what we did in Guatemala to what we did in Iraq & Iran and you will see it looks suspiciously like we were practicing.

The Border Fence Act was initially through the Bush Administration.

That should be a tyrannical government. That’s what I get for typing this while I am at work.
