Hypocrite President Trump and Chain Migration
Two more people have become U.S. Citizens; Melania Trump’s parents, Viktor and Amalija Knavs.
President Trump, who hates anything that give immigrants a pathway to residency or U.S. citizenship, has been outspoken against chain migration, exactly the procedure that First Lady Melania’s parents took advantage of in their path towards citizenship. The President has called chain migration “a disaster for the country.”
Chain migration is simply when citizens and/or legal permanent residents sponsor family members to come to the United States. Those qualified include parents, adult siblings and children.
The immigration lawyer that represented Melania’s parents spoke out against the President, calling his statements on chain migration “unconscionable.”
“This whole notion of chain migration actually is a beautiful bedrock of immigration law and policy called family reunification.”
“Imagine this, people will work harder and love more, and do more for America knowing that their loved ones, their immediate relatives, their parents, their children … to say you can bring one relative and not another relative … I can understand that some of them may be in jeopardy, and you may want to retool an antiquated immigration system. It looks weird to have a lottery system. But chain migration? No. Family reunification.” Michael Wildes.

Courts throughout the country are experiencing one of two things: either immigration authorities fail to put a court date on the notice or a court date is listed without having it been scheduled with the courts.
Once again, the Trump administration is proposing new rules for immigrants applying for green cards if they have used public assistance in the past.
