Jeff Sessions Gone- What Now with Robert Mueller
It comes as no surprise that Attorney General Jeff Sessions would be out the door after the midterm elections, and it all happened because he recused himself from the Robert Mueller investigation, which was the legal and ethical thing to do.
Technically, Sessions resigned from his position as Attorney General, but his letter of resignation begins with “at your request.” I wonder if those three words were included on purpose as to another potential obstruction of justice charge?
Next, is Matthew Whitaker, Sessions’ Chief of Staff and now Trump flunky, and if you think I’m exaggerating, Whitaker’s associates are saying that he will NOT accept any subpoenas for the President. In addition, why wouldn’t Rod Rosenstein as the Deputy Attorney General move up the ranks to Attorney General?
Whitaker will serve as acting attorney general who by law can serve for 210 days, so there will be obviously no rush by Trump to replace him or get him confirmed for another 209 days, but Democrats will make a push with a bi-partisan bill to protect Mueller.
With Whitaker at the reigns, he’s now running the Robert Mueller investigation which brings up three issues: one, is Mueller going to be fired? Two, will Mueller’s report be buried even though President Trump and the White House claim they have nothing to hide, yet are claiming Executive Privilege to do just that. Three, does it matter if Mueller gets fired at this point? Maybe Mueller has everything he needs?
In order for Whitaker to fire Mueller, he needs cause and I’m sure he will make one up if he can’t find one. Remember, President Trump and Rudy Giuliani as well as the Trump legal team have been stressing from day one that Mueller’s investigation has taken too long and that it should be over. However, in the same breath they are saying that Trump could seal the report under Executive Privilege and no one gets to see it. Then why the rush in the first place?
Now that the House has been taken over by the Democrats and Adam Schiff will be running the show, there’s no doubt there will be an investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and subpoenas will be issued for Trump’s taxes. Then again, the Emoluments Clause lawsuit will also result in Trump’s taxes being released and maybe Mueller has Trump’s taxes already.
In addition, there are media reports that Mueller has started writing his report. I think that is incorrect. Mueller has always been at a minimum three months ahead of the media, which means he’s probably close to finalizing his report. And, there are still more indictments coming with Roger Stone and Donald Trump, Jr.

Over and over I have asked why President Trump continues to block and obstruct anything related to Russia. If where this is smoke there is fire, then this is a forest fire.
A little-known violation of the U.S. Constitution has President Trump’s tax returns front and center.
If I am the President of the United States and I tell you to end an investigation where I am the one being investigated, is that obstruction of justice? Of course.
