Miami Medical Center Files for Bankruptcy
Per Becker’s Hospital Review, the Miami Medical Center has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The Miami Medical Center is associated with Nicklaus Children’s Hospital (landlord). The Miami based operation tied into Hall of Fame golfer Jack Nicklaus. The main hospital location is in Miami.
This past year in October, patient services were suspended and one hundred eighty employees were laid off. Debts range as high as $100 million and assets anywhere from $10 to $50 million.
