Michael Cohen Subpoena
Michael Cohen, President Trump’s former attorney and now archenemy is just beginning to deal with the legal issues that face him.
The Attorney General of New York- Barbara Underwood, issued a subpoena to Michael Cohen regarding the ongoing investigation and lawsuit with the Donald J. Trump Foundation.
At issue are the funds of Trump’s charity and what the funds have been used for. The Attorney General argues that in violation of New York charity laws, Trump’s foundation used funds to pay for personal and business related expenses, including legal fees.
The Attorney General’s lawsuit claims that legal bills were paid out of the charitable fund along with promotional items for the Trump chain of hotels.
The subpoena was issued upon Cohen accepting a guilty plea earlier in the week where he implicated the President in campaign fraud violations.
