Michael Cohen’s FBI Seized Documents
A special master was appointed to oversee documents that the FBI seized on April 9, 2018 from President Trump’s attorney Michael Cohen. The FBI seized more than four million documents in total from Cohen’s hotel room, office, and home. Cohen through his attorneys had claimed that the documents were exempt as it was attorney-client privilege.
Ruling by the Special Master
Special Master Barbara Jones reviewed 4,085 documents that were designated as privileged by Cohen, however, Jones ruled that only 2,633 documents were, leaving 1,452 documents not privileged.
Cohen is not disputing the ruling, thus, allowing for prosecutors to continue their investigation with said documents into Russia’s election meddling.
