Minnesota Moving Forward with Tougher Texting and Driving Law

car accident lawyer, personal injury attorney

There is a bipartisan proposal for “hands-free” use of cellphones pending in Minnesota.

Cell phones could still be used per the bill, as long as hands-free. Thus, drivers could still answer the phone, listen to music, and the GPS system, whether on the phone or a separate electronic device, but it would have to be one-touch feature or voice activated.

Penalties are $50 fine for the first offense and $225 for future offenses.
