More Dirty Tricks from Republicans in the Trump-Russia Investigation

Below is a list of newly appointed members of the House Intelligence Committee on the Republican and Democratic side.

Initially, there was a four-week delay by Republicans which prevented Democrats from issuing subpoenas in the Trump-Russia investigation. Coincidence?

This comes after Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker said in his now infamous “sweaty” press conference that Special Counsel Mueller was close to wrapping up the investigation.

Whitaker provided no proof to back up his statement and I believed he had said that as a way to give Democrats a false sense of security and confirm Trump’s pick for Attorney General William Barr.

Instead, Democrats delayed voting on Barr’s confirmation.

Now, we see delays on behalf of Republicans who are always saying the Mueller investigation needs to speed up, but they are the first ones slowing it done.

The Republican game plan?

That Mueller finishes his report, President Trump through Executive privilege buries the report along with Barr’s help, and prevent Democrats from issuing subpoenas for documents and witnesses by arguing that the investigation is complete.

Then, they tie up litigation in the courts forever, preferably past the 2020 elections or push it to the conservative Supreme Court.
