More Environmental Waivers for Trump’s Vanity Wall

In order to build another twelve plus miles of Trump’s border wall, environmental reviews are being waived.

Trump called the San Diego border “an area of high illegal entry.” With funding with $251 million from a 2018 bill, the fencing project will extend from the Border Field State Park east along the Tijuana River.

In addition, a secondary wall of about 1 1/2 miles will be constructed as well.

In total, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has issued six waivers under Trump’s administration.

“There is presently an acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers and roads in the vicinity of the border of the United States in order to prevent unlawful entries into the United States in the project area,” DHS Secretary Nielsen.
