No Deals, No Loans, No Nothing- Except More Lies from President Trump
“Oh! What A Tangled Web We Weave When First We Practice To Deceive” – Sir Walter Scott, from his 1808 poem Marmion.
President Trump would actually know this if he read, but luckily for us, he doesn’t as his mountain of lies crumble around him and Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation continues to push forward.
Let’s go back to the beginning with President Trump and his obsession with building a Trump Tower in Russia.
1- In the “Art of the Deal,” Trump writes, well he didn’t actually write the book but claims he did, that he had discussed with Soviet ambassador Yuri Dubinin of building a “large luxury hotel across the street from the Kremlin in partnership with the Soviet government.”
2- In 1987, Trump traveled to Russia to look for possible locations.
3- In 1988, Trump said there would be no hotel because “in the Soviet Union, you don’t own anything. It’s hard to conjure up spending hundreds of millions of dollars on something and not own.”
4- However, Trump returns to Russia in 1996 and announced a plan to invest $250 million in Russian real estate, and even told Russian politician Aleksandr Lebed that he was working with the local government and the mayor of Moscow.
5- Then in an investigation by Reuters, it was discovered that at least sixty-three persons had either Russian passports or addresses, purchased almost $100 million worth of properties in seven Trump-branded luxury towers including in south Florida where it is well known that Russians own a lot of real estate and have for decades.
I even had one of my clients who was a real estate investor tell me that at real estate auctions, Miami is divided into sections so that the Russians (mob and oligarchs) don’t compete against one another.
6- Reuters pointed out that at least one-third of the units, 703 units in total, were owned by LLC (limited liability companies) which makes it easier to hide the identity of the owner(s).
7- Felix Sater who was born in Russia and claims to have done work in the past with the CIA, owns a company called the Bayrock Group and partnered with Trump by 2000 for a development deal in Moscow. Sater no doubt is being investigated by Robert Mueller because Sater was the Russian sending Michael Cohen emails during Trump’s presidency for the Moscow Project.
8- In 2005, Sater found what he considered the right property, an abandoned pencil manufacturing factory.
9- Mini-me Donald Trump, Jr. at a real estate conference in 2008 said “as much as we want to take our business over there, Russia is just a different world. It is a question of who knows who, whose brother is paying off who…It really is a scary place.”
Yet, by then Trump Jr., Ivanka, and Sater had traveled to Russia multiple times, and in one email Sater says how he arranged for Ivanka to sit at Putin’s desk. Don, Jr. had travelled to Russia six times in eighteen months leading to the conference.
10- Trump Jr. also said “Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets.”
11- The Miss Universe pageant owned by Trump was held in Russia in 2013 and Trump once again said he was discussing development plans.
“I have plans for the establishment of business in Russia. Now, I am in talks with several Russian companies to establish this skyscraper.”
12- Prior to and during the time period that President Trump won the nomination for the GOP, Michael Cohen and Sater continued talking about the Moscow Project and per Cohen’s testimony in court last week, he did so with Trump’s approval. There were even talks of a $50 million penthouse to be given to Putin for free.

President Trump’s Nothing to Do with Russia Timeline
President Trump has said an endless amount of times he had nothing to do with Russia, not even business dealings even though the Miss Universe Pageant is owned by him and was held in Russia.
Now comes Michael Cohen and admits that he lied to Congress about President Trump’s dealings with Russia to protect him, all the while, President Vladimir Putin was looking at a free $50 million condo.
To the extent there was financial dealings with Russia, we’ll know when we see the President’s tax returns which trust me, will be soon. Either Special Counsel Robert Mueller has his taxes already, or Adam Schiff will subpoena his taxes, or the Emoluments Clause lawsuit will result in viewing publicly Trump’s taxes.
Over and over I have asked why President Trump continues to block and obstruct anything related to Russia. If where this is smoke there is fire, then this is a forest fire. A little-known violation of the U.S. Constitution has President Trump’s tax returns front and center.
Going back more than two years, on July 26, 2016 President Trump tweeted “For the record, I have ZERO investments in Russia.”

Then he tweeted again on January 11, 2017 – “Russia has never tried to use leverage over me. I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH RUSSIA – NO DEALS, NO LOANS, NO NOTHING!”
Of course, all CAPITALIZED because that makes it sound more legit.

“I don’t know Putin, have no deals in Russia, and the haters are going crazy – yet Obama can make a deal with Iran, #1 in terror, no problem!”

Now Trump has to focus on the “Dems” that have a massive conspiracy against him.
“Russia talk is FAKE NEWS put out by the Dems, and played up by the media, in order to mask the big election defeat and the illegal leaks!”

And just this week, okay- there was dealings with Russia.

Well, not only does President Trump now admit to lying about his dealings with Russia, the fact is he “lightly” looked at it and he gets it- he’s a good developer.
“Oh, I get it! I am a very good developer, happily living my life, when I see our Country going in the wrong direction (to put it mildly). Against all odds, I decide to run for President & continue to run my business-very legal & very cool, talked about it on the campaign trail…

…Lightly looked at doing a building somewhere in Russia. Put up zero money, zero guarantees and didn’t do the project. Witch Hunt!”

I like how he says he looked for a building “somewhere in Russia.” Moscow does not qualify as somewhere. By the way, the project was actually titled the Moscow Project.
NOTE TO TRUMP- you really don’t have to lie to the American people any longer because it truly is a waste of time considering that Mueller knows everything. #Muellerknowseverything.
