Paul Manafort Found Guilty on 8 Charges
Paul Manafort has been found guilty on eight of the eighteen charges. Ten charges were declared a mis-trial by Judge Ellis.
Manafort was convicted of five tax fraud charges, two bank fraud charges, and one charge of a foreign bank account not be declared.
Manafort’s next step is to appeal the decision on the eight counts. During this time, Manafort will remain in jail and he has another trial coming up potentially in the next four weeks in Virginia.
The prosecutors now have to decide if they will seek to retry Manafort in the other ten charges, but that will depend on the sentencing of Manafort on this case and the results of his Virginia case.
Manafort showed no emotion when the verdict was read.
As President Trump got off Air Force One for the campaign rally in Charleston, he once again called Paul Manafort “a good man.” He went on to say “we continue the witch hunt.”
It’s not too late to be on the right side of history.
