President Trump’s Legal Team Strategy- Delay. Delay. Delay.

This post has been updated.

How long does it take to reach a decision on whether Special Counsel Robert Mueller should ask President Trump a few questions? A week? A month? How about eight months.

Paul Manafort in a complicated federal financial fraud trial already has the jury deciding his fate. How long did that take? Ten days? Giuliani isn’t anymore interested in speaking with Mueller than you and I would be.

Delaying a case is a common legal tactic employed by defense attorneys. Rarely, if ever does a criminal defense attorney want to speed up a case. I’ve written extensively about the Waco Biker Shootout in Texas on my other blog that is motorcycle related www.mcatty.com.

There, I wrote multiple times when do you see 156 defendants in a rush to go to trial? Never. That in itself was a sign of where that case would end up, and I was right.

Now, Rudy Giuliani for all his craziness, he is experienced, as well as attorney Jay Sekulow. There’s no doubt they know what is happening since President Trump should have told them everything step-by-step, if not, just the evidence and/or information we have seen publicly is more than enough for them to realize what they are facing.

They really should not be surprised about any finding pertaining to Mueller’s investigation. Hence, their delay tactic.

Giuliani, just like Sekulow before him, has now vowed to take any Mueller subpoena to the Supreme Court. Why? For one, with some luck, Supreme Court pick nominee Brett Kavanaugh would be on the bench by then and we know how that will turn out.

If not, then that’s where the delay comes in. While Giuliani speaks from both sides of his mouth, he is begging Mueller for a subpoena. That is the best way to stall this case. Stall it for what- the 2020 elections.

At that point, President Trump has a myriad of excuses why he won’t be running again, and you can’t impeach the President if he is not the President any longer, thus, the issue is moot.

Could criminal charges come out of this? Absolutely. But, let’s look at the political angle. You think our government, our representatives in Congress want to put a former President on trial for crimes, a spectacle for the whole world? No, that’s not the way we do things here. They turn a blind eye and move on the next election cycle.
