President Trump’s Spat with Jeff Sessions Continues

Welcome to today’s soap opera episode of the White House with a cast of characters that bicker more than the “Jersey Shore.”

In an interview this week with Fox News, President Trump publicly attacked his appointed Attorney General Jeff Sessions for the umpteenth time, this time questioning his manhood.

“Jeff Sessions recused himself, which he shouldn’t have done. Or he should have told me.” Even my enemies say that Jeff Sessions should have told you that he was going to recuse himself and then you wouldn’t have put him in. He took the job and then he said I’m going to recuse myself. I said, ‘what kind of man is this?’”

******

Now, let me be clear on my opinion of Jeff Sessions; I don’t like his policies especially when it comes to Immigration. However, I don’t deny that he has the qualifications to be the Attorney General of the United States and I think it is safe to say and Democrats and Liberals should agree, he is not a corrupt politician.

Jeff Sessions rarely speaks out in public against the President. As a matter of fact, he has only done once before to my knowledge. Sessions replied yesterday to President Trump:

“I took control of the Department of Justice the day I was sworn in, which is why we have had unprecedented success at effectuating the President’s agenda—one that protects the safety and security and rights of the American people, reduces violent crime, enforces our immigration laws, promotes economic growth, and advances religious liberty.

While I am Attorney General, the actions of the Department of Justice will not be improperly influenced by political considerations. I demand the highest standards, and where they are not met, I take action. However, no nation has a more talented, more dedicated group of law enforcement investigators and prosecutors than the United States. I am proud to serve with them and proud of the work we have done in successfully advancing the rule of law.”

But, the President that still has yet to learn to quit while he is behind, cannot under any circumstances give anyone the last word. That, and he needs to create more distractions for what is no doubt the worst week of his Presidency, and trust me, he’s had a few already.

“Department of Justice will not be improperly influenced by political considerations.” Jeff, this is GREAT, what everyone wants, so look into all of the corruption on the “other side” including deleted Emails, Comey lies & leaks, Mueller conflicts, McCabe, Strzok, Page, Ohr……

….FISA abuse, Christopher Steele & his phony and corrupt Dossier, the Clinton Foundation, illegal surveillance of Trump Campaign, Russian collusion by Dems – and so much more. Open up the papers & documents without redaction? Come on Jeff, you can do it, the country is waiting!”

It’s safe to say that even the local dog catcher’s office receives ten times more respect than this administration.

Why is President Trump doing this? It’s simple: he knows the constitutional crisis he will create if he fires Sessions, so he needs him to quit. If he were to quit which I seriously doubt, President Trump will appoint a new Attorney General that is a loyal flunky and fire Robert Mueller.
