Robert Mueller Wants Paul Manafort’s Emails
In a recent court filing, Special Counsel Robert Mueller wants to review emails between former President Trump Campaign Manager Paul Manafort and his attorneys.
Normally, communications between attorneys and clients are privileged information, except if the communications are in reference to committing crimes. Remember, President Trump had stated that attorney-client privilege is dead when the FBI raided the office of his former attorney Michael Cohen.
Special Counsel Mueller is using FARA (Foreign Agent Registration Act) as the law that Manafort has violated by not registering as a foreign agent.
“In such cases, both the information that the client expected the lawyer to reveal and ‘the details underlying’ it are subject to disclosure.” Motion filed by Mueller’s prosecutors.
