Roger Stone Retains My Former Law Professor
This post has been updated to add an additional link on Scott Rothstein, another former law professor of mine.
I don’t deny I’ve been keeping an eye on Roger Stone from day one and have believed he is the key to the WikiLeaks email hack of Hillary Clinton and the DNC (Democratic National Committee).
Mueller has been looking at Stone’s associates for a while, which includes the Manhattan Madam Kristin Davis that testified before the grand jury and Stone is the godfather to her son.
There is also Andrew Miller, another associate of Stone that worked for Stone as well and has taken to fighting against the Mueller subpoena, legal fees paid for courtesy of Michael Caputo.
I even said in one post Stone hasn’t been indicated yet because he is a key, a “big fish” in the investigation. The latest reporting has Robert Mueller also looking into possible obstruction of justice charges against Stone. And now, I find out that Stone has hired Bruce Rogow.
I mention this because Rogow was my professor in law school. His reputation no doubt precedes him and he is a fine attorney, as good as they come. It will be interesting to see how Rogow handles Stone’s case moving forward, not only because Stone’s account of what happened with WikiLeaks changes more than my golf score, but also because Stone has said that he will not flip on President Trump.
“There is no circumstance in which I intend to be pressured in order to testify against the president. First of all, I have nothing that I could say about him that would be negative. Secondarily, I’m just not going to do that.”
In preparation for Mueller, Rogow had Stone take a polygraph examination. “I suggested a polygraph in order to pin down the veracity of Roger’s positions on the investigation by the special counsel with regard to Julian Assange and Wikileaks,” Rogow said. “I have great confidence in the polygraph examiner, to whom I sent Mr. Stone.”
At the time that I was in law school, Rogow had extensive experience in the appellate courts including the United States Supreme Court. There is no doubt once Mueller releases his report, all these issues will end up in the Supreme Court.
Mueller has also focused on Randy Credico, a former friend to Roger Stone since Stone threw him under the political bus when he testified before the House Intelligence Committee, saying that Credico was the go-between Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks. The allegation as the middleman has been denied by Credico.
It bears repeating that President Trump said at a campaign rally that he loved WikiLeaks and if they had the Hillary Clinton’s emails, to release them. WikiLeaks did, the next day! Stone has also admitted to having contact with Guccifer 2.0 which is believed to be a Russian hacker. Coincidence?
Don’t forget, Stone and Trump go way back and he worked on Trump’s campaign. Stone was even partners in a lobbying firm with Paul Manafort. See the connections coming full circle? Still nothing to see here? Still a witch hunt? Only in Trump land.
As of late, Mueller is looking into phone calls made between Stone and comments about Assange and the email hack.
