Rudy “Gibberish” Giuliani “Truth isn’t Truth”
Rudy “Gibberish” Giuliani did it again. Giuliani, President’s Trump’s echo and America’s favorite crazy uncle, hit it out of the park yesterday in his interview with Chuck Todd from NBC News’ Meet the Press.
- I am an attorney practicing law since 1999.
- The sun rises on the east and sets in the west.
- President Trump is the President of the United States.
All these statements are true, well, I take that back because the “truth isn’t the truth.”
“I am not going to be rushed into having him testify so that he gets trapped into perjury. And when you tell me that, you know, he should testify because he’s going to tell the truth and he shouldn’t worry, well that’s so silly because it’s somebody’s version of the truth. Not the truth.”- Rudy Giuliani
(Insert record scratching noise here). Sorry millennials for the seventies reference.
Todd replied with the obvious. “Truth is truth.”
Giuliani- “No, it isn’t truth. Truth isn’t truth.”
Todd- “This is going to become a bad meme.” Todd laughing at this point. “Don’t do ‘truth isn’t truth’ to me.”
Giuliani- “If they have two pieces of evidence, and Trump says I didn’t tell them and the other guy says that he did say it, which is the truth? Maybe you know because you’re a genius.” (The Trump and Giuliani go-to, insult everyone)
Todd- “At that point, you’re right. No, you’re right. I don’t read minds on that front.”
Of course, while Todd doesn’t read minds, Giuliani does when it comes to the evidence that Special Counsel Mueller has. “They have to write a report and they don’t have a single bit of evidence.”
Let me speak on behalf of Giuliani: I guess he is trying to say that perception is reality. Yes and no. But, we can’t use that line for every example especially when it comes to the legal system.
Courts don’t allow hearsay evidence except under limited circumstances. If not, every trial would just be a long list of witnesses pointing their finger at each other in a he said/she said situation. It is for that reason that trials are a jigsaw puzzle which each piece tying into a story of legal evidence.
Just another assault on the alternative facts and an insult to the American people.
