William Barr is Part of Trump’s Swamp

William Barr was confirmed yesterday as the Attorney General and thus, he is now overseeing the Special Counsel Robert Mueller investigation.

In order to avoid the appearance of impropriety, Barr’s son-in-law resigned from his position in the Justice Department. That is the right thing to do.

Where is his next paycheck coming from?

A large New York city or Washington D.C. law firm? As a professor at Harvard? No – from President Trump!

Tyler McGaughey is now working as an attorney in the White House Counsel’s office where his role is to advise the president, the executive office, and White House staff on legal issues concerning the president and the presidency.

Am I the only one that sees a problem with this?

The whole point of McGaughey leaving the Justice Department was to avoid conflicts of interest, not create new ones.

One of Barr’s daughters, Mary Daly is also leaving her current post in the Deputy Attorney General’s Office to work in the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network.

There is no doubt their work will intersect with that of the ongoing Russia probe.

Now to be fair, their decisions were not required by nepotism laws, you know, the same ones that President Trump has ignored with Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump.

Remember former White House Counsel Don McGahn? He cooperated with Mueller’s office. Would Daly and McGaughey who now work for President Trump and/or his administration do the same if their father/in-law works for the department that decides whether President Trump should be indicted or not?

Let’s not forget that Barr for no logical reason, sent a single-space nineteen-page memo on his own to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein criticizing Special Counsel Mueller and possible obstruction of justice charges.

I’ve always said President Trump drained the swamp, but he only replaced it with a golf course and spa and he financed it with Russian money.
