Senator Elizabeth Warren is already pressuring other Democrats to avoid accepting donations via super PACs and self-funding. In the political world of Washington where I cannot foresee changes in campaign financing and donations, Warren is on the right track.
“We ought to be building a movement, and the way we do that is with lots of involvement from lots of people, not having billionaires buy these campaigns, whether we’re talking about super PACs or self-funding. As Democrats, in a primary, we should lock arms and make sure this is the party of the people.”
Senator Warren’s promise is resulting in other top Democrats following suit, which includes Senators Cory Booker (N.J.), Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.), Kamala Harris (Calif.) and former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro.
