Student Loans Increasing Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Filings

With more than $1.5 trillion in debt, second only to mortgages, the student loan debt crisis has increased bankruptcy filings based on a new study by LendEDU.

According to the study, 32% of debtors filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy have student loan debt.

Student loan debt with certain exceptions does not qualify for bankruptcy and in reality, it is virtually impossible to discharge the debt.
