Texting and Driving Law

Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes once said that ignorance is no excuse for the law. Live in Florida and looking forward to your vacation in a cabin in the woods? Then you better know the laws of each state as you cross stateliness.

A new law went into effect in Tennessee that makes it illegal to have a phone in your hand while driving. So, you can forget about talking, texting, playing music, using Google maps, anything that includes your cell phone in your hand. Hands-free you’re good.

Note that Florida recently made it illegal to text and drive as well, but it is not a “hands-free” state.
