Trump Loses Again on Asylum Ban

The U.S. Appeals Court in the Ninth Circuit upheld Judge Jon Tigar’s ruling on banning asylum claims for immigrants that enter the country through the U.S. – Mexico border. The decision was upheld 2-1.

“Just as we may not,as we are often reminded, ‘legislate from the bench’, neither may the executive legislate from the Oval Office,” Judge Jay Bybee, a George W Bush nominee, wrote for the majority.

This case stems from President Trump requiring that migrants must enter through “official ports of entry.”

Nancy Pelosi Won’t Back Down- Border Wall

For reasons that logically I cannot figure out why Nancy Pelosi was a controversial pick to run the show, there’s one thing we know for sure; she’s not afraid to stand up to President Trump. As Tom Petty once sang;  “you can stand me up at the gates of hell, but I won’t back down.”

With a government shutdown looming and President Trump wanting his absurd border wall at the cost of $25 billion, Pelosi told reporters earlier today that funding the border wall and DACA – Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program do not go hand-in-hand.

“We want in this negotiation, I can say, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to anybody is we’d like to just go in and say it’s December. We’ve lost now another week — for a legitimate purpose — but nonetheless, we’re getting closer to when this CR expires.”

“I think what we can do that makes sense is to pass the six bills where the members of the Appropriations Committee have come to terms — you’ve heard me say it over and over — leave them to their own devices. “The appropriators can come to a good conclusion and then have a CR only for homeland security as we go forward. And that’s pretty much where our position is right now.”

“But even if you have a CR for a full year, that doesn’t mean that at some point if you come to another conclusion you can pass a bill,” she said. “But you can’t do this week to — I mean, there’s too much uncertainty involved.”

Because of selective Trump memory, let’s not forget that Mexico was supposed to pay for the border wall, so in reality President Trump should get zero funding.
