Trump Makes Himself a Witness in Michael Cohen’s Pardon Talk

Give credit to Jim Jordan and Mark Meadows, two hardcore Trump supporters for creating the narrative that Michael Cohen lied to Congress and new charges of perjury should be brought forward against him.

Also remember that Jordan and Meadows filed Articles of Impeachment against Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. Why? Your guess is as good as mine.

Regardless, Cohen’s lawyer Michael Monico sent a letter to House Oversight Committee chairman Elijah Cummings to clarify the discussion of Cohen’s testimony and a presidential pardon from President Trump.

In the letter, Monico writes that Cohen at one point asked his lawyer to explore the possibility of a pardon, but that was when there was a joint-defense agreement.

Thereafter, there has been no further talks about a pardon.

However, in any completely erroneous move legally, and I’m being nice in my choice of words, President Trump tweeted the following:

“Bad lawyer and fraudster Michael Cohen said under sworn testimony that he never asked for a Pardon. His lawyers totally contradicted him. He lied!”

“Additionally, he directly asked me for a pardon. I said NO. He lied again! He also badly wanted to work at the White House. He lied!”

Monico disputes that by saying that Cohen never asked Trump for a pardon and one was never offered. I say it is a dumb move by the President because he just made himself a witness.

The letter from Monico to Cummings can be seen below.
