Trump the Grinch That Stole Christmas
The first day that President Trump took the escalator down from Trump Tower and told the media he was running for President, his speech wasn’t inspiring, it was dark and full of doom and gloom.
Trump’s speech at the Republican National Convention; dark. His inaugural address, not much better. How did you think Christmas would end up?
The National Christmas Tree was- you guessed it, dark. Because of the government shutdown, the National Tree which is located in President’s Park falls under the umbrella of the National Park Services. Luckily, philanthropists got together and had the Christmas tree lit up for Christmas, but it was dark since Friday.
Several states have taken similar actions like New York to keep the Statute of Liberty open and Utah to keep their national parks open as well as Arizona.
With the President, like always, it starts with a tweet.
“I am all alone (poor me) in the White House waiting for the Democrats to come back and make a deal on desperately needed Border Security. At some point the Democrats not wanting to make a deal will cost our Country more money than the Border Wall we are all talking about. Crazy!”
“I hope everyone, even the Fake News Media, is having a great Christmas! Our Country is doing very well. We are securing our Borders, making great new Trade Deals, and bringing our Troops Back Home. We are finally putting America First. MERRY CHRISTMAS! #MAGA”
Then the Christmas tradition of children following Santa on NORAD and Trump speaks with a 7 year old and asks him if he still believes in Santa. Let me repeat that: the kid is 7 years old!
Why else would the child be calling if he didn’t believe in Santa? Did I mention he’s seven-years old? But it gets better because President Trump says “because at 7, it’s marginal, right?” WTF?
When speaking via video teleconferencing with the troops overseas, Trump goes into his “no collusion” skit.
And to take away any hope for federal employees, President Trump has made it clear the shutdown will last until Democrats give him the $5 billion for the border wall funding.
Thanks Trump! All year the country looked forward to Christmas and all you did was try to take away the focus from one of our most cherished traditions to make it about you and bring everyone down with you.
