Who Needs the Constitution- Trump’s Ignorant Immigration Rhetoric

Remember when you Obama haters believed that nonsense spewed by the NRA (National Rifle Association) and memes that you accept as news, that Obama was taking away your guns? Remember how the NRA filled up their coffers and gun sales were up? Do you still have your guns? Google the Second Amendment. It’s still part of the U.S. Constitution.

Now President Obama, a constitutional attorney, knows what the Second Amendment is and fact is, he never made any “Muslim socialist” attempt to take away your guns. But, that’s the opposite of President Trump who is now saying he is going to tear apart the Constitution, the 14th Amendment specifically, and you are probably supporting him on that. Let me go back to my two favorite words: be consistent.

In his latest ignorant rant, President Trump is considering signing an Executive Order that prevents U.S. born citizens from keeping/being U.S. Citizens if they have non-citizen parents. Any lawyer that says this is legal and possible, like Vice President Mike Pence yesterday, is not only clueless, but should have their bar license revoked and is most likely into strange QAnon type conspiracies.

Now, the President no doubt has smart people working for him and while they may have a different viewpoint on every subject imaginable as compared to me, the fact is I’m pretty sure there is no attorney, starting with White House Counsel, that believes this is even possible. But, does this even matter to the President? Of course not, because what matters is getting his base excited about another anti-immigration policy and the fact that his act is unconstitutional, well, those are just details in a world of “alternative facts” where the “truth isn’t the truth.”

Like I said earlier today and have many times before, fear-based politics. Per Trump, “we’re the only country in the world where a person comes in and has a baby, and the baby is essentially a citizen of the United States … with all of those benefits.”

That is far from true.

Birthright citizenship which has been extended by laws passed by our very own Congress, includes U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

As to the only country in the world, well try at least thirty countries, with the two developed countries being the United States and Canada.

But again, with the midterm elections six days away, Trump is throwing everything at the political wall to see what sticks, just like the “10 percent tax cut” for the middle class that he was giving, but considering Congress is in recess, we know that to not be true, not to mention impossible. Remember, President Trump lies on average eight times a day that we know of.

Settled law per a Supreme Court ruling dating back to 1868, the first sentence of the 14th Amendment reads: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”

Unless you graduated from Trump University, the 14th Amendment is pretty clear. But, don’t take my word for it. House Speaker Paul Ryan: “you cannot end birthright citizenship with an executive order.”

By the way, good luck crossing the border as an American citizen because Trump’s administration won’t believe you are. Just read my post below.
