Willie Nelson and Beto O’Rourke
Whiskey River take my mind…
Ah… Willie Nelson. To be clear, I love Willie Nelson. I’ve seen him in concert at least four or five times and even once with Bob Dylan opening for him.
I have Willie Nelson in my music on Amazon and his concerts on DVD. In no particular order, my favorite artists are Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, and Jimi Hendrix.
Willie Nelson, the pot smoking red headed stranger will be playing a free benefit concert in Austin, Texas, on September 29 for Representative Beto O’Rourke, who is the Democratic nominee in the race for the Senate against Ted Cruz.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Nelson said: “my wife Annie and I have met and spoken with Beto and we share his concern for the direction things are headed. Beto embodies what is special about Texas, an energy and an integrity that is completely genuine.”
Of course, the haters have already come out and bashed the legend and to be honest, #### them. Nelson is as American as it gets and insulting Nelson just shows the limited intelligence of those that do. I guess they will be burning Nelson’s cd’s and dvd’s next. Idiots. Send it to me instead.
What’s even better is that back in the day, Beto was in a punk rock band and because Senator Ted Cruz is desperate, he’s using that as his latest attack against him. Beto has already played on stage with Nelson including the song “Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die.”
And for those of you that have no sense of history, don’t forget you loved it when we saw President Bill Clinton playing the sax on the Arsenio Hall Show.
You want my opinion, it’s awesome to see Willie Nelson and Beto O’Rourke together. Enough with the Republican ultra-conservative tight asses. At least with Beto, he’s the real deal. But, what else do you expect from a guy that travels in his used Toyota truck to rallies. Well, he could have gotten a Ford since I love my F150, but no one is perfect.
